Last year, Seo had the best year in his career. He played 141 games during the regular season and recorded a batting average of 0.285 (or 146 hits in 513 times at bat), 10 homers, 61 RBIs, and an OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage) of 0.735. Since his debut in the first division in the 2020 season, he has had the most hits, homers, and RBIs. "I've never run so much," Seo said. "I participated a lot last year, but I gradually made up my mind by experiencing how to rest when I was having a hard time and when I concentrated in training and games and when I didn't (control my strength and weakness). Seo Ho-cheol said, "I think I can definitely do better than last year. Rather than being consistent, I think I have to do better than last season. I think I can do better again. Since I experienced (full time), I am more confident than last year."

NC's infield became more solid last year when it traded Kim Hwi-jip. Matt Davidson, the home run king of last season, is expected to take the first base, while captain Park Min-woo will take the second base, and Kim Joo-won will be the infield commander. Seo Ho-cheol and Kim Hwi-jip should compete for the hot corner. Kim Hwi-jip is a formidable opponent who ranked fourth in home runs and third in RBIs in the team with 16 home runs and 73 RBIs last year.
